Bella Cummins '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Bella Cummins and I am a dedicated and hardworking 2022 softball athlete with a 3.7 weighted GPA, as well a National Honors Society member. I am truly dedicated to the sport of softball and have been competing competitively since age 8. I'm an athlete who not only knows the mental game of softball, but also respects the life lessons taught on the field.

I have been extremely fortunate during my softball career to be coached by some of the best in the industry.  One of my very first coaches competed with the US Olympic team, and I vividly remember hearing her stories when I was 10 years old and wanting to pursue that same feeling she spoke so passionately about.  Because of these stories, each year I strive to improve my form, mental acuity and sportsmanship so that I can lead by example.  I have been on the varsity softball team at my high school since my freshmen year and maintain a starting position on my club team.  I believe it is more valuable to lead by example than words, and for this reason you will often find me on the field first (btw…you never walk on dirt…you ALWAYS hustle to your position) and the last to leave huddles and/or game circles.

Looking forward, I recently decided to narrow my search to west coast schools (Arizona, California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, Washington and potentially Hawaii) but I am very open to going elsewhere if it is the right for both the school and me.  I plan to major in Sports Medicine, Sports Therapy or a similar concentration.  I am very realistic about the talent level in my peer set and the limited number of offers sent out each year.  I will be thankful to play at a higher level in any division and look forward to the many lessons I will learn and friendships I will make.
