Sydney Ward '19 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Sydney Ward and I graduate in 2019. My primary position is a RHP and my secondary position is 1st base. I am 5'9" and I go to Paris High School in Paris, Arkansas. I was the starting pitcher my freshmen, sophomore and junior year and will be the starting pitcher this coming season for my high school team.  I am mostly a power hitter whether I'm playing high school or travel ball, batting in the 3-4 spot on the team. When I pitch, I try to keep the batters off balance by throwing fastballs & hitting my spots, drop ball dropping down in the zone and changeups to keep the batters honest. My fastball velocity stays between 61-63mph, changeup between 41-44 and drop ball 61-63.

My dream is to go to a college that fulfills not only my educational needs, but also my athletic aspirations. I began taking pitching lessons in 2012, but began playing when I was 5 yrs old.  Playing travel ball has allowed me to meet a lot of great players & coaches and I've made life long friends that I otherwise wouldn't have met.  I love playing softball & would play every weekend if I could.  I have a very supportive family who are always cheering me on & helping me to attain my goal to play at the college level.
