My name is Emma Forman. I am 15 years old and 5’11”. Last season, as a 14 year old, I was the starting first baseman and Captain for my under 16 team. We placed 4th at the 2017 provincial championships where I was chosen as 1 of the top 17 athletes in offensive and defensive play and awarded 4 athletic credits to be used towards graduation. I was also selected to play and attend provincials with an under 18b(rep) team as the starting first baseman, but also played 3rd and DH. For both teams I batted in the clean up position.
My mom has been battling Multiple Sclerosis since 2002 and she truly is my role model. Watching her push forward everyday, to help me follow my dreams is a huge inspiration and has taught me so many valuable lessons; never give up and to live each day to its fullest, even when things don’t go quite as planned and probably the most important lesson...that there is always, always something to laugh and smile about, even if that something is yourself.
I love every aspect of the game of softball, and being able to help myself and my teammates achieve personal and team goals. I pride myself on my sportsmanship but also competitiveness on and off the field. I am currently working with a personal trainer 3 days a week doing Crossfit and agility while training for Femsport and Spartan. I feel my personal endurance and strength training will help me better my personal game play, which in turn benefits my entire team.
I am open and willing to give almost anything a try to help me achieve my goal and dream of playing softball, while obtaining my degrees in Kinesiology and Athletic Therapy and/or Criminal Sociology.
