Hello,
My name is Dominique "Dom" Garcia and I am in my junior year of high school at El Capitan HS in Lakeside, California. I first started playing softball when I was 8 after being inspired by my older sisters and dad; I fell in love with it. Ever since, I've wanted to use my love for the game to help me attend college and achieve the goals I desire for my future.
I am a hard worker and challenge myself. In school, I take all honors classes and have a 4.6 GPA. I am looking for a college that offers multiple STEM majors as I want to find a career in animal research. Growing up I always had a love for animals and had a variety of different pets; dogs, lizards, tarantulas, bunnies, etc.
I love catching because I get to be a leader, it is my job to let everyone know what the next play is while also being the support team for my pitcher. I enjoy having conversations with coaches about their knowledge of the game, it helps me become a smarter player. While in the box, I love coming through for my team, it feels amazing to execute whatever is asked.
