My Name is Mia Nordgren . I am attending Educational Partnership High School in Long Beach, Ca. I am a senior. And Will be Graduating and finishing up high school 4 months early in Jan. I’m a hard working, reliable student athlete, holding a 3.0 GPA. I am currently playing softball for the Artesia Punisher-Gonzales . Based out of Artesia California.
When I began to play softball at 6 years old, the moment I stepped into that dirt I felt at home.
I made Allstars that year and it was all over after that. Softball was my life and my identity. I breathed the sport. And through out all those years of playing year round, I was a coachable kid who listened to my coaches and wanted to learn everything about the game. I played 3rd base and absolutely loved the adrenaline I got at that position . I became a travelball player at 12, and ever since then college ball was my goal.
I’ve been with the Punisher organization since my first season of 14s. I now play 1st base and 3rd base and am a huge bat on my team, as the 3 or 4 spot batter in the line up.
The organization, myself, and my coaches have helped mold me into not just a great athlete but the amazing, talented, academically smart young lady I’ve become. I also have become an assistant Coach to a High school Varsity team based out of Southgate Ca, with my Punisher coaches. And last season went all the way to the CIF championship! I am on the softball field with them 4-5 hours a day 5 days a wk as well as with my own team 7 days a wk.
I’ve learned time managment, self discipline and communication skills, and how to not only get along with all the players who have joined my team but how to be a leader, model, and Captain and help the younger players learn the technical part of the game. I teach them to not only respect each other and their coaches but to absolutely 100% respect the game ! I
Lastly, I want nothing more to go to college and continue my academics (in social work and possibly sports managment) at a great school with a great softball team.
