When I was first introduced to play softball, I fell in love. I have attempted to try other sports and art forms such as gymnastics, hula dancing, soccer, band, and piano but none of those gave me the passion I was looking for. When I was 10 years old, I saw a sign for "Youth Athletics Slow Pitch Softball" for the city of Lakewood and tried it out. I remember my coach told me that after my first season, I needed to check out fast pitch softball. After playing softball for almost 5 years, I grew an interest in how the body needs to condition and maintain stamina. I plan to major in Kinesiology in college and continue my studies to become a Sports Medicine doctor. My travel ball coach continues to tell me that I'm the hardest working person on our team because I do more workouts, stay later for practice and even help out the younger level teams. I often find myself volunteering at our batting cage and help teach a catching class with another coach. I get along with everyone and enjoy working with a team. I live and breathe softball and still manage to maintain a high GPA and put studies first. When I play softball in college, I know I will thrive, persevere and succeed.
