Samantha Aviles '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing softball since I was five years old. Since first stepping onto the field, I fell in love with softball. As I got older, I became more competitive in the game and now I am inspired to play at the collegiate level. I realize that playing in college is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that could change my life and I would like to have that opportunity. 

I have strong all-around skills in fielding, batting, catching, and running. I am mentally tough and have a high softball IQ. I am a team player who leads by example and encourages teammates to be the best they can be and to never give up. I am coachable, determined, and committed to excellence. I strive to be one of the hardest-working players and one of the hardest-working recruits you will find.  

As a High School Softball and Basketball Varsity Athlete, I have learned a lot about myself. Most importantly I have been able to be a part of a group of girls from different cultural backgrounds which has helped me appreciate the differences we have as individuals. As a dedicated student-athlete, I work hard year-round on my softball skills. I’m also actively engaged in various competitive tournaments and skill camps throughout the year that help me develop my skills. 

In the classroom, I study and maintain a high GPA year-round. I am an Honor Roll student at Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School and have sustained Honorable Academic Recognition since my freshman year.  I also volunteer at a local hospital and at a local recreation center to get involved and help my community. I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the softball field. I am open to all options and want to find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible and pursue my dream of becoming a Doctor. I hope to become a role model to all my peers and my community. Most importantly, I want to make my parents proud for all of the support they have given me.
