Hello, I am currently going into my senior year of high school. Since I was nine years old, my dream has been to receive a college education playing collegiate softball. I am originally from Olathe Kansas. When I was 12 1/2 years old I moved to Southern California. I do enjoy the weather in Southern California, however I am looking to go out of state. I would like to go east of Utah. I do not mind cold weather states or humidity due to where I grew up. I miss falling asleep to a thunderstorm or waking up to snow on the ground.
Softball has taught me self-confidence and accepting myself for who I am. I have learned that there is no perfect body and that everyone is beautiful no matter their height, and weight. This sport has taught me life lessons that will help me in life after softball. An example is my catching coach Amber Freeman told me you always introduce yourself to the Umpire and shake their hand. It’s a sign of respect but also its teaching me good communication skills. This is just another way I am preparing for the real world.
I believe my character sets me apart from others. My primary position is catcher. In my opinion I believe it's the most selfless position on the field. You have a job to lead not only vocally but by example. The eight other players on the field are looking at you. Also catchers have to manage their pitchers and sometimes you have to be a psychologist to them. In order to do this you have to be stoic no matter what is happening.
Academics are another strength of mine. I am on the national honor society. Right before the start of my junior year I transferred to a Catholic Prep School, so that I could be better prepared for college, athletically and in the classroom. My possible major interest include sports management, business and public relations. After college I plan on attending business law or getting my master in something business related. I hope to one day be an attorney for an NFL team or be a Sports Marketing and Entertainment Attorney.
