My personal statement
I started playing softball at the age of 8, my father is the person who has served as an inspiration and continues to influence me every day by setting the example with his work ethic. Being a softball player has shown me the importance of having a positive attitude.
My academic goals for high school are to maintain my GPA above a 3.5 in addition to being recruited play at the collegiate level. My aspiration is to pursue a higher education and to graduate college with my Bachelors and Masters.
What makes me different would be my mental strength. One of the obstacles I had to overcome was losing my biggest supporter and number 1 fan who had been by my side for 4 years straight. That supporter was my Grandfather. When I lost my Grandfather, I had to learn to stay focused and to control my emotions on and off the field. That experience strengthened my mental strength and allowed me to prosper into the strong player that I am today. My realistic athletic goals are to continue playing the sport I love at the competitive college level. Another goal of mine is to participate in coaching softball which would allow me to give back to the softball community. By giving back it would allow me to make a difference and would truly be a joyous feeling.
