Vanessa Pena '23 Recruiting Profile

  At a very early age, I was introduced to the sport of Softball by my parents and godparents and I was able to fall in love with it. From practicing for hours to winning championships, I have loved Softball through thick and thin and have given my full focus and effort in every situation that has been put in front of me. In the 2019-2020 season I was the starting varsity center fielder/right fielder as a freshman and I led my team in almost all offensive categories including Batting Average and On-Base Percentage.

 Despite my love for Softball, my education is something that I put all of my full force into. I always love to expand my knowledge and challenge myself in any way possible. I have been determined to receive a 4.0 or higher throughout my middle and high school years and so far I have succeeded. In a couple of years I will be graduating from high school and receiving my AA at the same time. While taking high school and real college classes at the same time, I have found that to be successful you must have great time management skills and you must be able to balance your athletics and academics without falling behind. At times when this felt like too much, I was able to persevere and gain strength, but was also able to gain great multitasking skills. I am a hardworking, respectful, and driven student-athlete who is fully committed to all that I do. I am not afraid to fail and I am ready to be apart of your Softball family.
