Hello everyone, My name is Daphne; I am 16 years old and 5’8. I’ve been playing softball since I was 5 years old. I’ve played all different levels of competitiveness. From league teams to highschool to travel. I have always had heart for the game as I love it deeply. Constantly it can feel like a battle but a battle I always love fighting for. My biggest inspiration for playing came from my dad. Even though I have been playing since I was 5, at 8 years old I started to play 3rd base. Let’s just say I wasn’t necessarily a pro. My dad always encouraged me to try outfield instead because he thought maybe I wasn’t so gifted at 3rd. I felt the deep need to prove him wrong at the divine age of 8. Not only over the course of the next few years did I prove him wrong about 3rd base. I also proved him right about outfield. His encouragement helped me to become not only a skilled OF but also to explore 3rd base. Two positions im proud to say I can play.
This anecdote demonstrates that I have always been someone who is very coachable and always open to improving my game just by a little day by day. I have always been someone that has never been afraid to use my voice to my advantage.
