My name is Hannah Burns, and I am currently a senior at Fort Collins High School in Fort Collins, Colorado. I have been playing softball for 10 years now, and before that I played baseball and tee-ball. I grew up in a household full of athletes, as my mom and dad both played high school sports of all kinds, and then continued on to be veterinarians. I have a twin brother, who is in the process of trying to play golf in college.
My current goals are to play softball in college at any level from D1 to Junior College, and then study biology to become a nurse or doctor in the future. I have always been very driven and hard working to reach my goals. School has not always come easy to me, but through my hard work I have maintained a 3.9 GPA. I am a very coachable player, and I tend to pick up on things I have been taught quickly. I am on the quiet side, but I am very competitive and I always have a driven mindset. In addition to softball, I played soccer for 8 years as well as basketball and golf for most of my life.
I have learned good sportsmanship, character, hard work, discipline, and the qualities of a good person and teammate through softball. I couldn't imagine my life without the sport, and that's when I knew that this would be the sport I want to continue throughout college.
