When I realized I had the potential to be great, I decided to become entirely serious in the game of softball. Freshman year really opened my eyes on how much I loved the game because of how challenging it is physically and emotionally. I'm constantly at the fields and have so much respect and passion for the game. I love the challenge of the game and want to continue to play beyond high-school. The collegiate level would keep my passion and grind for the game alive along the intensity of competition.
Right now in my life what I work towards most is good grades and becoming a great softball player. I fully understand grades play an important role in becoming a collegiate athlete, so I put in the time in the classroom/at home, and also on the field as well to become solid academically and athletically. My favorite sport, of course, is softball, but I also play different sports like basketball, and sometimes volleyball. To accommodate softball, I hit the weight room four times per week to gain strength and power. I also run frequently to keep a strong stamina. If I were to describe myself I would say that I'm mentally strong. I'm able to get out of my head if I've made a mistake. My coaches and team mates would say I am outgoing, have a strong work ethic, and will say I can play anywhere they need me to be. My biggest strength is my versatility and that I can adapt to any situation.
I have numerous goals I want to achieve when going to college as a student-athlete. I strive to compete at the highest collegiate level regarding softball. Another long-term goal I'd need to continuously maintain is earning scholarships. I'll keep up my grades and continually strengthen my softball game so I can save money in the long run that will help me once I'm out of college. Overall, I want to make sure a college is the right fit for me academically and athletically so I can be and asset to their team and school. A good business or veterinary program is my primary point of interest but I am open to different career paths as well.
