The first time I ever even thought about playing softball, I was eight years old. My father played in a slow pitch softball league, and going to his games was one of my favorite things to do on a Thursday night. I can recall one night in particular where I watched with wide eyes as my dad hit a home run, and fired balls over to first base from shortstop. I knew in that moment that I had to play this sport. What I didn't know was that softball would be the sport that I love so much, to want to play it as long as possible, at the highest level I can achieve.
Right away, hitting and fielding came easy to me. However, as the competition grew stiffer, I knew any natural ability that I had would only take me so far. I was, and still am, willing to do whatever it takes to better my skills. Whether that means staying after practices for a few extra reps, or attending a hitting lesson on a Friday night, I do it all. I'm always prepared and excited to head to practices and games. I have learned that I am focused, determined, and committed while playing softball. In all, I pride myself on being a very coachable player who always wants what's best for the team, and I would love to have the opportunity to play at the college level.
