Personal Statement

My name is Bria Hinkle. I am the starter pitcher for both my high school and travel-ball team. I also play middle infield. I began playing varsity ball my 6th grade year and have continued to through my 11th grade year. I work hard for not only myself but those around me. I work extremely hard to accomplish my softball and, especially, my academic goals. I have maintained a 3.9-4.0 GPA throughout all my years of schooling. I hope to graduate college and enter the medical field.

During my free time I enjoy helping the community in any way possible. I help maintain the records and stock the shelves at the food pantry in my home town. I also participate in the annual Coastal Clean-up the town of Cedar Key hosts. Throughout the year I also clean-up around the town as well as the surrounding barrier islands.

06/29/2021 - 2021 Softball Factory Jacksonville Storm Showcase - 16u Bria is a 2023 graduate who is a RHP/UT. She wants to learn and is receptive to change and trying new things to improve her game. In the circle, Bria has a good mound presence with an effective knuckle changeup. She hit a top speed of 57MPH on the weekend. Working on not extending her back legs when she drives off the mound as well as learning an up or down pitch will help Bria be more effective on the mound. In the field, Bria has a strong arm and makes accurate throws. She reads the ball well in the outfield. In the box, she always has a plan at the plate. Not casting her hands and staying connected in her swing will increase Bria's power, as well as a quicker transfer in the field. Overall, Bria has the skill set and tools to improve her game.

Softball Factory write-up: 01/17/2020 - 2020 Softball Factory All-America Pre-Season Tournament Bria is a 2023 RHP with a strong skill set. On the mound, Bria has a confident presence. She shows good balance, has a fluid arm action and extends through her release. She has controlled mechanics and creates tight spin. She commands the strike zone and is able to work ahead in the count. She generates ground ball outs and is able to field her position. In the box, Bria uses an open stance with a simple load and on time stride. She has a good eye and is able to work the count. She will take the walk to get her team a base runner and is also able to put the ball in play. She is a line drive hitter that works the pull side. Overall, Bria is a strong player and our staff looks forward to seeing again.
