I have been playing softball since I was 7 years old, in the minor division of my local Little League. I was introduced to the mound and began to learn to pitch fastball. Over the years, as I moved up in divisions, I learned to play left field and 3rd base. In 2016, I was nominated and won the Little League Good Sport Award and my family and I were flown to Little League Headquarters in Williamsport, PA, to attend the Little League World Series and to be awarded. It was a once in a lifetime experience for sure!
My love for softball continued to grow and in 7th grade I joined a travel ball team, the Florida Misfits, for which I still play. I worked hard and earned my spot as the starting pitcher for our team. When I began high school, I tried out and made my Varsity High School team as the starting pitcher, above the veteran pitchers that were already on the team. I have maintained that position for the last three years. Last year, as a junior, I led my team to the semi-finals for Regionals, which had not been done for our school in 11 years.
My coaches started talking to me about playing at the college level. They have encouraged me to attend camps and play in showcases to get myself recognized. I am very coachable and work hard to take advice or constructive criticism and make changes if necessary. Playing at the college level would be such an honor for me and a dream come true. I know that the opportunity itself would provide me with an experience that would last a lifetime and could potentially open doors for me after I earned my education.
Academically, I am currently deciding between earning my degree in Criminology, Physical Education or Sports Therapy. I am open to all college opportunities and look forward to finding the right one to fulfill my academic goals and softball dreams. Additionally, I can’t wait to become part of a new team!
