Leadership, work ethic, coachability, and speed are the core attributes of my athletic success. Because of my speed, aggressive baserunning, coachability, and perseverance I was able to switch as a slapper a year and a half ago. I’m very humble for the work my coaches have instilled in me, and I’m proud of myself for working hard in achieving six different swings so far. On the field I strive to be the best and most diverse utility player I can be to provide more opportunities for helping my team. People often ask me, “What’s your favorite position?” and my answer remains the same every time: I just love being out there playing. So, wherever I am, I give it my best and I’m just thankful to be out there! As a positive leader, I have the honor of being nominated as a team captain as an incoming high school freshman for our varsity team!
I choose to live my life by the same standards I compete with: lead by example, maintain respect for myself and others, and strive to become better every day. I work extremely hard in my academics to help reach my dream of going to college and becoming a student athlete. I will carry over the contagiousness of my positive attitude and represent my future college, teammates, and coaches well while setting an exceptional example in the community. Softball has taught me that no matter if I’m facing success or a stumbling block, there is always a way to improve. I recognize that athletics is a steppingstone for self-discipline, hard work, and a desire to improve. These three steppingstones are keys to help me set, work at, and achieve life goals. Through my faith, core athletic attributes, and my academic ambition, I will strive to find a school where I can be a valued member of a team and begin my academic journey of becoming a veterinarian.
