My name is Dallas Loar and I am a 2021 OF/2B/C from Dunnellon, Florida where I attend Citrus High School. My primary positions are 2B and C, but I can also play anywhere in the OF as needed. I currently have a 60 MPH overhand velocity and I am continuing to make every aspect of the game I play stronger. That is why I have decided to learn the art of slapping. I am new to it but have success at my first tournament since switching. I have a great attitude on and off the field. I’m very competitive and hardworking but also very teachable. I always learn from my mistakes on the field and take the opportunity to move forward and get better every day. I also play travel ball year-round. I strive to be a contact hitter and find the gaps to advance myself and runners. I also have been getting stronger in base running and finding the opportunities to advance on the base paths. While in the field I use my years of playing and strong field vision to my advantage to help my teammates with what plays, and scenarios are possible. Not only do I work hard on the field, but I also work hard in the classroom. I currently maintain a 3.75 GPA and strive to keep it at this level or higher. I rarely have missing assignments and keep up in both AP and honors classes. I also maintain an A/B Honor Roll. During my free time I work on my skills at home and attend catching and hitting lessons weekly. During my softball career thus far, I have been taught very valuable lessons. I have learned how to persevere through tough times both on and off the field and to never give up on something you believe In and dream of. I have made many long-lasting friendships and have realized if someone is pushing you to work harder, they have faith you will succeed. I have strong love for this game and wouldn’t trade it for anything else. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
