Personal Statement

My name is Kaylee Youmans and I'm from Baxley, Georgia. I have played softball since I was three years old. I am very athletic and enjoy pretty much any kind of sport. I enjoy running track, swimming, and playing basketball and soccer. However, my passion is Softball. I am a great team player and encourager on and off the field. I was selected as All Region First Team during my Sophomore and Junior years. I also made All State First Team and the Junior All-Stars Team. I have been on the Appling County High School Lady Pirates Varsity Softball Team for my Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years and have been a starter. I play Center Field and 3rd Base in both High School and Travel Ball. I participated in the Texas Survivor Thanksgiving Blowout Tournament with the College Scouting Bureau National Team in Keller, TX in November 2020. I am on the Carolina Elite - Owen National Team. I have been invited to be on an elite team to play softball and represent the USA in Barcelona, Spain this 2022 summer. I played with the 18U Softball Factory National Team this past November 2021 in Savannah, GA. My goal is to attend college and major in Education while playing college softball. After College, I would love to be part of Pro Athletes and eventually play in the Olympics.

She has a good first step and quick feet, staying low through the ball. She is a great teammate and is vocal. She wants to learn and is athletic with a lot of potential. She is aggressive in the box and keeps her hands back on changeup. She is aggressive on the bases and goes out all the time. Improving her body control and not drifting in the outfield as well more lower half when swinging will help Kaylee take her game to the next level. Overall, she has the skill set and tools to continue improving her game on the diamond.

03/07/2021 - VERIFIED Official College Recruiting Membership - Lawrenceville (Atlanta), GA Kaylee is a 2023 3B/OF with an exciting skill set. In the box, Kaylee is a RHH that uses a square, athletic stance with centered balance. She creates smooth rhythm with a short stride and generates fast bat speed. She makes hard, consistent contact and shows gap to gap power. Working to load her hands and staying inside the ball will allow her to see an increase in her power and allow her to see production to all fields. At 3B, Kaylee is has an aggressive approach. She has a nice pre-pitch approach, presents her glove on time and fields with sure hands. She makes a clean transfer and with a fluid arm action she makes accurate throws with carry. Working on her back hand approach will round out her skill set. In the OF, Kaylee is an athletic player. She has quick feet and takes good angles to the ball. She is vocal and a natural leader. Working to create the proper arm slot will allow her to show off more of her arm strength. Overall, Kaylee is a talented player with the skill set needed to play at the next level.
