Hello coach, my name is DeAsia Lowther. I am a 2020 RHP/1B/3B playing for East Laurens High School and Tennessee Impact. My aspiration is not only to go to college to obtain the knowledge that I need to become a successful Middle Grades Mathematics teacher, but to play the sport that I love while pursuing that degree. I would consider myself as an asset to my team on and off the field. What I have learned from being a pitcher, is that leadership plays such a big role in the position, so that’s what I strive to get better at every day. Not only being a leader pitching (and in my other positions), I have taken what I learned from pitching into my hitting. Being up to bat while my team is down, I know it's my responsibility to get everyone pumped up and back in the game by putting all my energy into the ball and not giving up. What sets me apart from everyone else, in my opinion, is my dedication to the sport I fell in love with. I love to get my weight lifting in at least 4 days a week including a full practice afterwards 5-6 days out of the week. To me, it’s a want to practice rather than a chore. I always strive to be the best I can be for my parents, coaches, team, and for myself. I’m so blessed to have a parents as dedicated as I am and supporting me throughout my career. I love learning new things to help my team out during those close games. During the times I’m not playing, I think it is extremely important to get my schoolwork done on time maintaining above a 3.5 GPA minimum. I know how important academics are to my future. As I continue to work, I have always been instilled as a young girl the attitude of holding myself accountable for everything that I do and say because I am a reflection of God first, my family, and those who trust me to be apart of their team.
