I'm a good student and have learned to organize my time between studying and my ball schedule. I have not made a decision on my career path but I enjoy math and have considered accounting in the future. I would also like to one day become a coach and "give back" to the sport that I love and has taught me so many life lessons.
I absolutely love to compete and although I know losing is part of the game - I hate to lose and I do all I can to make sure WE WIN! My goal is to play upper level college ball and I work hard to achieve it. I love to practice and believe in hard work. I have seen how much it has helped me and many of my teammates to improve.
I believe in giving everything I have on every play whether we are practicing or in a game. I am a serious ball player and will run over or thru anything or anyone to make the play. I play with no fear and no reserve and will make the play even if I have to wreck doing it. You will never see me take a play off, it is all or nothing with me.
I have had times of struggle during the years and know that nothing comes easy and we all have to earn anything we get in life. I am ready for the challenge and try to look at any situation as an opportunity to improve or show what I can do (or what we can do as a Team). I try not to let negative thoughts ever come between me and what I am trying to accomplish.
When I was 12 years old I broke my elbow during the first inning of a championship game (I made the out doing so and I stayed at the game to celebrate when we won!). I had to have surgery to pin it back together so I had to sit out for 6 months. It was heartbreaking for me and I was really scared that I would not be able to pitch or play again; it was pretty bad. I still made every practice and every game during that time. At BP I would swing one handed when my Dad would let me. Going through that made me appreciate my opportunities and made me understand what hard work is really about. It hurt so bad at times when I first started pitching again, I had lost so much speed that I was getting hit hard (something that had never happened much before my injury). It took several months to get my speed and form back, during that time I learned how to overcome many things. Mental toughness was the biggest thing, I know that I can overcome anything no matter what the situation if I am dedicated, stay calm and believe in myself.
I'm a LHP and I love being in the circle although 1st base is great too. I throw 60-63 mph and have good late breaking movement most of the time. I have learned how to get outs when I don't have my "stuff", but it is a much easier day when I do. My goal is to throw 65 mph while improving my control by the start of the upcoming travel season.
I always support my teammates and my coaches and I understand that we all have roles to play in a team. If there is another player that is better or is a better choice for my team I support her and help her in anyway I can. I will also keep working to improve and earn that spot. I expect the same from my teammates.
My goal in College is to get a great education that will help me to be successful in my career of choice. I also want to compete for a Championship! I want to contribute and I'm ready to fight!
I wish you well and hope the best for your in your travels. If you are ever close by please stop and say hello, we can share a smile, a handshake and talk some softball. Give me an opportunity and I will give you my all!
