My name is Lola Walden, I live in the small town of Twin City, Georgia and I consider softball a big part of my life. I've been playing softball ever since I was able to walk, and I'm very determined to play at the next level and advance my skills. To be honest I've never really thought of playing at the collegiate level until I got to high school and have experienced the love on and off the field and the competitiveness during games. Recently, I was a starter on my High School varsity softball team, as a freshman, and played second base. I was able to help out my team as we won our 1st State Championship last year. But what I believe would make me a good candidate for a team is my work ethic and my determination. My Daddy always says that I'm myself worst critic and that I'm definitely the hardest person on myself, but it's because I love to do things the right way and I focus on the little things, but I also love to have fun on and off the field. I also love to form good relationships with my teammates and my coaches. I like to have Coaches that always have my back and are there for me when I need them.
I really push myself to do my very best when it comes to softball and academics. One thing about me that I make sure that I do on and off the field is give God all the glory for my academic and athletic ability. I really strive to stick close to God in whatever I look to do with my life. I also strive to continue to have good grades throughout my high school career. So far, I'm in honors classes, have all A's and I'm in Beta Club. I strive to have good grades because in my future I aim to become an interior or an exterior architect. I also want to go to a college that has a good engineering program and will help me become an architect. One of my dream colleges to go to is Duke University in North Carolina. I love their athletic and academic programs and my family has grown up loving Duke. But Duke is probably the farthest I'll probably want to go. I mainly prefer sticking close to home. Anyways, I aim to continue to work hard at everything I do and never take anything for granted. My family is certainly something I'm very grateful for and they will definitely be the most influential in my decision for a college. I'm the oldest of 5 and I want to be a good role model for my siblings when I grow up. I want them to know that if you work hard enough for something you can make it happen. My family has always been by my side for everything. And one thing that I would like coaches to know is that when I was only 2 years old I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis and I've really kicked it's tail growing up, and it's never stopped me from playing the game I love. That's one reason I believe I have so much determination at everything I do. I not only have deep determination, but I'm a good student, teammate, very competitive, I was voted DAR Good Citizen, I work hard for what I want in my future, and I can definitely add value to your school.
