I am a right hand pitcher with a secondary position at first base, and I graduate in the class of 2021. I have been playing softball competitively since the 7th grade. On a majority of the previous teams I have been on, the pitching staff has always been limited between 1-2 other girls who could pitch. Because of this, I have had to build up endurance to sometimes pitch almost a whole tournament if the other girls did not show up. This has not only made me realize the importance of hitting spots, but also taught me to rely on and trust the defense behind me.
I believe that I give 100% and display leadership when I am on the pitching mound. I make a clear point to communicate with the players behind me on where to next play is before each batter. I make an effort to make sure that they know when they do a good job and to shake off any errors if there were any. I also maintain a positive attitude during games and practices on and off the field at all times.
I would love to have the opportunity to play softball on a collegiate level. I plan on majoring in history and/or anthropology in order to either become a teacher or an archaeologist in the future. I have taken harder academic classes, but have still maintained a high GPA of 4.38. I plan on taking the SAT and ACT in the fall of 2020. I am open to going a college anywhere in the country as long as it meets my academic needs and gives me the opportunity to play softball on a high level.
