Ashley Alvey '17 Recruiting Profile

I have always loved playing softball but not as much as I do now.  I truly fell in love with the game my freshman year. I proved to myself I can compete at a much higher level.  Joining a new travel team I got the opportunity to play the best competition in the mid west. I learned I have a very competitive side to me, and that my bulldog mentality intimidates teams.  I learned that I am a team-player, and will put everything on that field if I can give my team a better chance at winning the game. My pitching skills are improving daily, and I know I will compete at the college level one day.

I am told by many people that I am gifted with teaching. I have a passion for helping others, especially children. I love seeing their progress in front of my own eyes, and knowing that I am the cause for their improvement. I also love being outdoors. In my free time I go bow and gun hunting for deer and wild turkey with my dad. I am fascinated by nature, I like understanding the science of all things outdoors. For these reasons, I want to major in Elementary Education, and minor in wildlife sciences.

In the near future, I want to reach my goal of playing competitive softball while getting further education for my future.
