Hello, my name is Morgan Hasty and I am a Senior at Salem High School in Salem, IN. As a junior I played varsity volleyball, basketball, and softball. I am a player that is hard working and I am always willing to learn something new. I am always the first person on the field and the last person off the field. You will not find a harder worker than myself.
I am always dragging my parents to the field to practice. Even after a game I ask my dad to do soft toss with me and hit balls to me in the field. I continually want to practice to improve my game. It has always been one of my dreams to play in college. I am open to any opportunity that is offered to me. I am highly motivated, dedicated, and always pushing myself on the field and in the classroom. I would be a great asset to your program.
I am very athletic, hard working, Christian, team player, I have a positive attitude, and I get along with others. I can play many positions except pitching; my main positions are 3rd base, 1st base, shortstop and outfield. At first when people look at me they do not think I am very mobile but for being 5’8”, 185 pounds, but I can get to first base in 2.9 seconds and make plays at shortstop that at times are difficult. I like to get down and dirty when necessary to make an extraordinary play.
I have played varsity softball for Salem High School for three years. My sophomore year I was the full time shortstop. One of my goals that season was to make All-Conference as a sophomore. I achieved that goal as well as I made Washington County team. My junior year I was the varsity full- time 3rd baseman and I made the All- Conference team for the second year in a row. In 2010- 2011 I played with the Indiana Stingers travel team. We played in many tournaments in Indiana, Ohio, and our World Series was in Johnson City, TN. While playing in these tournaments we were very successful. We won the World Series in Johnson City, TN.
I currently play for the Bluegrass Blaze out of Louisville, Kentucky. On this team I am the primary 3rd baseman and carry just under a .500 BA.
I am interested in a team that wants to build a positive program with good role models and coaches that can help me achieve my goals in life like being a successful athlete and an education that will help me to succeed beyond sports. As of right now I want to continue my studies after high school and major into elementary education or forensic science, and I would also like to minor in christain studies. I would appreciate any opportunity that is given to me.
