Personal Statement

My name is Courtney Chookie. I will be a 2019 graduate of Warsaw Community High School, Warsaw, Indiana. I play varsity softball and volleyball.  My travel softball team is the Indiana Shock 01 - Premier. I am a right-handed pitcher and have been pitching since I was ten years old. I currently have five pitches (fastball, curve, drop, change and rise). I rely on hitting my spots, movement, and am very comfortable fielding my position. While pitcher is my primary position and what I love, I am also comfortable in the outfield. I am proud to say that I broke our high schools pitching career strike outs record mid-way through my Junior season. I also earned 1st Team All-NLC Conference along with getting awarded my team’s Pitcher of the Year (3 years straight) and Most Valuable Player award.

While sports are very important to me, so are my academics. My GPA is 3.6/4.0 while taking honors courses. I work hard on and off the field. Through the years, I have learned that teamwork is a big part of the game. My coaches, teammates, and family have inspired me to become the best that I can be in the game and in the classroom. I am willing to do whatever it takes to get to the next level, since my dream has always been to play college softball and get an education in athletic training, physical therapy, or nursing.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Courtney Chookie

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
