Makayla Holder '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Makayla Holder. I play for the Indiana Gators 05 Rosenbaum team. I also play for the Wawasee High School Varsity Softball team. I am interested in pursuing the opportunity to play college softball and attend a school that satisfies my academic goals. I am currently a senior at Wawasee High School.  I will graduate in May of 2024. My GPA is 3.7. Currently I play all positions in the outfield. The coach will place me on either side depending on the wind direction and primary hitting direction of the opposing team. My speed is my greatest asset. I use my speed not only in the outfield but as an aggressive baserunner.  My travel coach has spent many hours teaching me good base running skills. I am a left handed slap hitter. I am not limited to just slapping. I have learned to draw in defense with bunts and then slap over or hit depending on the defense positioning. At the end of the 2022 season I was nominated for the second year in a row to the Indiana North VS South Elite competition. I also received honorable mention for all conference player.
