Personal Statement
My name is Samanta Mendoza and I am a RHP from Barcelona. I have been playing softball since I was 12, which is relatively a late start however, I put a lot of work, passion, dedication and time to softball and I believe it shows.
I am a very ambitious person with the very ambitious goal to compete at collegiate level softball in the United States being an international student. I want to continue my sport and education in the United States is because it will allow me to achieve my academic goals while growing myself as an athlete and being exposed to competition, talented players and experience.
I really enjoy playing as a team as I can always seek to help and better my teammates as well as taking in helpful criticism that will build me up as a player. I find myself to be a very determined athlete as I have always been able to look up to those who were more experienced than me to watch, learn and listen to them in order better myself and improve.
I am aware that a good education is the foundation of being an athlete and I take school very seriously, this year I am starting the IB and plan to maintain a healthy balance between school and softball as they will be the two main focuses in my life for the next two years. I plan to major in Business and minor in Marketing and see what that will bring me.
I hope to be able to thrive athletically as well as academically while creating unforgettable experiences and memories.
