I believe that being a part of a team sport all year round as an athlete is crucial to learning how to overcome challenges and obstacles you might face throughout your life in the future. In my sophomore year, I think as a softball player, I not only worked to get my basic fundamentals better, but I also worked on providing more of a leadership role on all of my teams I participate on. I have noticed that just in the last few months, I have grown to know what my skills are and what I can improve on to become a better athlete. I also believe that being a four sport athlete teaches you how to balance your academics, sports contests, and personal life at once.
While playing softball, I have learned and taught myself many lessons. Some of these lessons include time management, accountability, and leadership. All of these put together have helped me during the time of changing schools in 8th grade. When I transitioned schools, I needed to use all of these skills to make friends and learn a new way of life at my new school.
My academic goals for high school is to maintain good relationships with all of my teachers and continue to be a responsible student who works hard in the classroom and tries to help others when I can. I would like to have a 3.9 GPA, or higher throughout high school and receive an ACT/SAT score that brings forth my best performances in all of the categories of my life.
