I am a 5’3” catcher/utility player from Independence, Iowa. An accomplishment that I have achieved is, I am a leader on and off of the field. This shows that I am hardworking and determined. I became interested in the sport when I was about 6 years old. I played t-ball, coach pitch, pitching machine, kid pitch, and now travel ball and school ball. I chose to take this sport seriously because it’s a great team working sport and you can make some great friends. I have learned that in the sport of softball you need to have a good bond with your team.
My academic goals throughout high school is to dress or play varsity as an 8th grader. I have had to overcome some obstacles to get where I am, I almost broke my thumb and was out of the sport for a long time. When my thumb healed, I was in a big slump, but I got to work in the cages and battled back.
Some unique characteristics I have is I can play anywhere in the field. If I get told I need to play somewhere, I’ll do it. I am a really big team player, having a connection with the team that your on means so much. I talk up the field during a game, telling others what scenarios we are in. I personally think I am a hard worker. I want to perfect everything in softball. I have received MVP and All Stars before. It is a great honor to get these awards.
I play 3 sports including softball, volleyball and track. I am able to adapt to new things quickly.
Thank you for taking the time to read my statement.
