Addison Gookin '24 Recruiting Profile

For as long as I can remember, I have absolutely loved the game of softball, and I appreciate everything it has provided me.  It's allowed me to develop a deep self-confidence, knowing that I am capable of great things if I truly work hard and dedicate myself.  It's allowed me to form friendships with people I may not have otherwise met.  Being able to continue my playing career in college has long been a goal of mine.

My primary goal in college is to receive a high quality education, helping to prepare me for success down the road.  I hope to be fortunate enough to play the sport I love for four more years while earning my degree.  Time management has been key for me to find success both in the classroom and also in sports.  

I think my coaches would say that I am a focused, coachable, hard-working player who is willing to do the little things to help the team succeed, and someone who doesn't shy away from any situation - big or small.  I also pride myself on being as versatile and prepared as possible.  I also know that not all outcomes are in my control, but the one thing I know I can always control is effort.  I never want to say another player out-worked me.  Most of the time, hard work and relentless effort leads to great results.  That's the way I always try to play the game.
