Delainey Bargfrede '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Delainey Bargfrede, and I'm looking to play softball at a four year college or university.  I am extremely motivated in the classroom and in athletics.  I work hard in the weight room and the off-season through speed and agility training and softball skills workouts.  I have experience in the infield and outfield, however, my primary position is on the mound pitching.  Pitches I throw are fastball, change-up, curve ball, drop ball and rise ball, with my rise and curve being my dominant pitches.  I have been consistently throwing 61 mph in the off-season and during games between high 50's and low 60's.  Pitching has deepened my passion for softball and I have been devoting many hours fine tuning my mechanics since I was in 3rd grade.  As a hitter, I am used for power and typically hit in the 4th, 5th, or 6th spot in the line-up.  I keep myself competitive throughout the school yer by playing varsity high school and club softball and volleyball, and I have one year of high school varsity basketball experience.  In addition, academics are a huge priority to me and currently I have a 4.0/4.0 GPA and rank 1st in my class of 175 students.  I am taking several college courses through Iowa Central Community College and am on track to achieve my Associates of Science degree before graduating high school.
