My name is Elissa Sweat but I like to be called Ellie. I am primarily a catcher but also a utility player. I have been playing softball since I was 6 years old and travel ball since I was 8 years old. I knew I wanted to be a catcher the second I put the gear on and played the game in that role. Most people who know me would say it is the perfect position for me because I am a natural born leader.
I enjoy school and strive to do my best at everything academically and athletically. I have been on the honor roll every semester and received the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence. I am in honors classes and intend to attend school for Athletic Training. I know that playing softball in college would not only change my school career but also my life. It’s all I’ve ever dreamed of since I went to my first college prospect camp. I work hard perfecting my softball skills year round by going to hitting and catching lessons, practicing in the batting cages, and playing year round travel softball. I also participate in becoming a stronger all-around athlete by lifting weights, cheerleading, and girl’s wrestling.
My friends would describe me as loyal and silly. I consider myself a leader and I always try to be the sunshine to those around me.
I want to attend college where I can be the best student and college softball player and eventually Athletic Trainer that I can be and I am open to attending any college that will help me to achieve these goals.
