Emilia Clemons '24 Recruiting Profile

I'm an extremely competitive person, and if I have a goal, I won't stop until I make it happen for myself. My goal is to play competitive softball in college. I am a talkative person, and that translates to my ability to communicate on the field. As a pitcher, I can control the speed of the game, I use this to my advantage by either taking my time between pitches to insure I hit the correct spot or making sure all of my teammates are prepared for the next possible play before continuing with my next pitch. I pitch at a cadence that works for me and that allows me to stay composed on the mound. I am also a very intelligent person, which I use to my advantage on the field. I can read a batter to know what pitch location is a trouble spot for them by keeping an eye on them in previous games or in the on deck circle. By the second time through the line up, I make sure I know each hitter. I also am a smart runner on the base path, taking every extra base possible. I make sure to use any of the other team's mistakes to my team's advantage.

I work hard in school and in sports, so I can pursue all of my life goals. I've had setbacks whether it be physical or mental, but each time I come back stronger. I can feel myself growing as a player and person all the time, and I know that by my senior year I will be more than ready to play at the most competitive collegiate level.
