Hello, my name is Marissa Parks, and I am a Junior at Morse High school in Bath, Maine. I began playing softball at six years old, and it is probably the best decision I have ever made. Softball is not only a sport that teaches athletic lessons, but it teaches life lessons as well. I believe that the game is more a mental test then a physical test, and me being able to build my mental toughness has made me a better athlete and person. I play two other varsity sports, soccer and basketball. Softball has made me better at these others sports because softball has taught me the value of being on a team. For example, it may be the off season, but I'm not skipping a workout, because when I do that I not only cheat myself, but I let my teammates down as well. Softball has also taught me to give my all in the classroom. I have a 3.5 GPA, and am on the course to take AP classes. My love for the game of softball meets no bounds, and that is why I will push myself to be the best I can be, and play at my highest capability. I will play not only for myself, but for my teammates, my coaches, and anyone else who has helped me reach my goals. I would love to be an addition to your team, in hopes that I can share my love for the game with everyone I meet. Thank you for reading!
