Hi coaches, my name is Kayleigh and I'm a 2028 3B, 1B, and RHP. I go to Cape Elizabeth HS and I'm on the varsity softball team. One thing that makes me a good candidate for your team is I'm a good teammate. Whenever my teammate looks upset, or we're losing and everyone is down in the dumps, I try my very best to up their spirits. My coaches would say that I'm hardworking, a good listener, and a great teammate. Something that makes me different from other players is my willingness to step up. When I was 12, I learned that the only pitcher in my grade was going to a boarding school for high school. I come from a small town with an even smaller softball program, with only 2-3 pitchers on my team this coming spring, so what did I do when I learned this? I became a pitcher. I started small, going to clinics being held at my travel organization. I planned on pitching for my little league and school games, just to help out, but then I reached 8th grade. I ended up on a very small team at my organization because players who were supposed to be on my team left my organization. I was the only pitcher on my team. I worked extremely hard all winter, and ended up pitching 1-2 times a tournament for my team. I still have a lot to work on, and I wouldn't like to pitch in college, seeing as 3rd base has always been where i felt at home, but it shows my willingness to do things other people don't want to do. I also had to catch for my school and town teams, and will likely have to backup catch for them again. My biggest goal for softball right now is go go D1, and go to college in another state.
