My goal is to play softball at a college in New England. In the spring of 2020 I was an 8th grader we missed our spring softball season and really nothing else was going on due to covid. My batting coach at the time was a college student who also got sent home from school, she reached out to see if I wanted to do some extra work since there was nothing going on. I spent the next 5 weeks doing her college work outs with her three days a week and on the other two days we would bat all at 8:00am Monday through Friday. We had a very short summer travel season that year but I will always remember the first practice, the coach wanted to see how the team was doing on condition and had us run home to first and back then home to second then back continuing all the way around, I lapped all but 2 girls on the team. I learned an important lesson that spring hard work pays off! I continued to work in the off season on my own and earned a starting position on my high school varsity team my freshman year. I continued to work in the off season and my sophmore year our team won the Maine State Class B Title, I was the winning run stealing home after hitting a triple. I love the game of softball and appreciate how much effort has to be put in to play at your best and am ready to do that work to be part of a team and enjoy the sport I love while in college.
