After the pandemic hit us in full swing, I found myself overwhelmed in the recruiting process. I am fortunate enough to have been sought out by Herkimer College which I have been blessed to call home these past two years. I am thankful for my time here, it has developed me tremendously not only as a player but also as a person. But, all good things come to an end and I am getting ready to graduate with my Associate in Sports & Recreation Management this spring. I truly believe that the JUCO path is so underrated, I will miss this little place atop the hill.
Upon coming to Herkimer I was thrilled for the new opportunities but was also intimidated to be so far from home. Softball helped me open up and gain comfort and within the first two weeks, I was named our team captain. We were a small but mighty team last year, battling to earn 3rd place in Nationals. While I'm beyond proud of our team, I am left feeling vengeful, I want that ring.
When I'm back home in Mass it's rare to find me away from a field. My full-time jobs are through my local YMCA where I work in the child watch department as well as a sports instructor but come summer time I work for our camp, Camp Apex. I am thankful to have these jobs that are super flexible to work around my busy schedule. Back in 2019, I decided it was time to kick-start my career so I started K's Catching, my coaching company I use to mentor young athletes, primarily catchers. I offer private sessions as well as clinics and have really seen this start to take off this past summer. After aging out of 18U this summer, I was honored enough to be asked (and accepted) to take on the role of head coach for my travel organization, Valley Storm. I was on the "OG" Storm team ages ago and am nowhere near ready to say goodbye yet.
I have been told for as long as I can remember that I have a way to stand out, I have never been one to be afraid to step into a leadership role. My dedication, energy, and leadership skills are something that would make a great addition to any roster.
