Personal Statement

Hi Coaches, my name is Kaelyn, and I am interested in continuing my softball career throughout college. I have played softball since I was 10, and I have been a utility player until recently, when I began to hone in my skills as a catcher. I have played 5 years of Little League Softball, 2 years of All Stars (ending #2 in the state of Michigan), 1 year with the Port Huron Predators (Fall and Summer Season) and this is my 3rd year playing softball for Croswell-Lexington (2nd high school year). In addition, I have just joined the Ark Rival Lady Rebels, and I look forward to making softball my top priority and commitment. I make contact with the ball at almost every at bat, work the count and fight at the plate, and usually bat between the 3rd and 5th batting spots on the team. I’ve thrown multiple girls out on the bases and specialize in framing and calling pitches and locations for my pitcher. Currently, I’m working on maintaining all eligibility requirements and exploring which division is right for me! In college, I am looking to major in political science with the dream of attending law school and working in the field of law. I am dedicated towards making my dreams a reality, and I take pride in working to be not only apart of a team, but the best on it. I am a very coach able player, and I drastically improve every season I play. For instance, I was able to lower my pop time from a 2.4 to a 2.0 in a 4 month span due to hard training and dedication. My current goals are to improve my throw out rate and pop time as a catcher, increase my power and batting average as a hitter, and focus on who I can become as a player. I am never satisfied with where I am at, and I will never stop working to be the absolute best I can be.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
