Coach,
My name is Alli Yambrick; I am a Senior at Swartz Creek High School located approximately 60 miles north of Detroit in small town called Swartz Creek, Michigan. Upon graduation, I plan to attend a college or university majoring in nursing and minoring in a second language. I am writing this statement to express to you the passion that I have for the game of softball and the desire I have to pursue it to the next level.
Over the years softball has offered me many amazing opportunities and has introduced me to many great coaches and fantastic players who not only do I look up to as role models but consider friends. My goal is to play softball at the collegiate level while being unconcerned of the division level. My desire is to just be on the softball field with a team making a difference. I am absolutely willing to do whatever it takes to become the best player I am capable of being. I understand to the fullest extent that academics are the critical aspect of college, I also believe that being part of a team forges character, teamwork, lifelong friendships and relationships with those of similar desire for the game.
Throughout my youth and now high school years, I have always tested myself with challenges. As an example, the subject of math is not by any means at all one of my strengths, but I have challenged myself by getting out of my comfort zone by seeking additional help through tutor’s as well as taking on difficult assignments which may not yield the greatest of results on paper but I feel it develops what I believe to be a “challenge” type of mentality, one that not only I can use while on the field and in the batter’s box, but an attitude I can apply to every aspect of life and its own challenges on a day to day basis.
Not to sound cliché but to me softball isn’t just a “game”, it’s a way of life so to speak. Softball is a way for me to grow mentally and physically through the unique challenges it offers. I am a firm believer that the more I challenge and push myself to the limit, the faster my limits change, creating more challenge and the faster I grow as a person and player.

- During the summer of 2017 I played on a recreational team that consisted of my fellow high school teammates in the Flint City League which is Recreational Competitive Summer Softball League that helps with player selection with the CANUSA games. The CANUSA Games are an Olympic style competition in various sports between Hamilton, Ontario and Flint, Michigan, USA.

Lindsey has been instrumental in helping me develop my offensive/Defensive and mental skills at the plate and on the field. Lindsey Hanson is a former Michigan State University All-American Shortstop/HR & RBI record holder.

- Matt Jones is my hitting coach. Matt has been instrumental in helping me develop my skills at the plate both physically and mentally. Matt is the Owner of Bullpen Sports in Flint, Michigan as is nationally recognized National Pitching Association (NPA) Associate Coach with 30+ years of playing and coaching experience at the high school, collegiate and minor league level for baseball.

Mallory Miller is a former Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) DII pitcher & utility player and student pitching coach. She has also held the positions of varsity head coach and assistant coach for Lapeer High School (formerly Lapeer West).

- ActivitiesI like to exercise and do physical things that challenge me, I like to play with my dogs, I like to got to the malls and shop, I like to go fishing and hunting too. I'm also lucky enough to have a part time job at my aunts hair salon. I'm able to make my own hours so that i can schedule around my school activities which helps a ton. I am also interested in volunteering time at a local animal adoption agency.
