In my high school career, I was fortunate enough to have the ability and chance to play four years of high level softball along with three years of travel softball. Throughout all of these times, I have grown as a person and developed many characteristics. I have developed teamwork, perseverance, discipline, work ethic, and so many other traits that this wonderful sport has taught me. Along with developing these characteristics, I was able to point out weaknesses that I had. Most specifically my mental weaknesses. I have been able to pinpoint these different weaknesses and then start to improve on them. For example, I have overcome my bad mindset that I used to play in. I used to be super hard on myself whenever I made a mistake on the field or struck out. Seeing that I had this type of mindset, I am now able to clear my mind after these mistakes and start with a clean slate. This relates to real life situations because if I am working at a job and I make one mistake then I can’t continue to focus on that mistake and end up letting it affect the rest of my work/day.
One very important part of finding a college are the academics. I put just as much time as I put into sports into my academics, even more if I have to! Academics are number one throughout your high school career and afterwards. If you don't do your homework then you won't succeed in your academics just like if you don't practice then you will never get any better.
I am confident that if I you were to allow me the honor of playing for your team that I would make a positive impact right away. Through my traits of never giving up, perseverance, discipline, being a leader, and just being a good teammate in general, I believe that I would make a easy to coach athlete and an awesome teammate.
