My name is Michele Stai, and I am a 5'5" 145 lb. hardworking and determined recent high school graduate catcher and outfielder. As a sophomore, I was the starting catcher on Varsity and helped lead my team to many wins. I have been interested in Softball ever since I was able to pick up a ball and therefore know a lot about the game, but always want to learn more. My most rewarding accomplishments were receiving all-conference and the Laker Spirit Award both as a sophomore. By definition, the Laker Spirit Award is an award that is given to an individual who has gone beyond the normal everyday expectations of others within the sport. I always attend summer practices, camps, and anything dealing with softball, not because I have to, but because I want to. I am the first one on the field and the last one to leave. I am willing to put in whatever it takes to reach my goal of playing softball in college while also getting an education and meeting new people.
My plan for college is to major in exercise science and minor in biology. From there, I am planning on becoming a physical therapist. I am not sure the setting of that occupation, but I am thinking either in a school or pediatrics. I am set to attend Southwest Minnesota State University this fall and I am super excited to be a Mustang!
While in high school, I always liked to challenge myself. My junior year I was taking three college classes: College Algebra, College Spanish, and College Anatomy and Physiology. Those were somewhat challenging because of all the extracurricular activities I participated in. I was involoved in softball, swimming, basketball, band, choir, jazz band, jazz choir, FCA, NHS, Adult choir at my church, praise band, and honor bands. With everything I did, things could get challenging, but that is why I love softball. Softball pushes you to become the best, and because of all the precision and fundamentals, that is hard to do. However, if you put your mind to something, you can accomplish it and make your dreams come true.
