E.J. Scharmer '11 Recruiting Profile

I am E.J. Scharmer and I aspire to play highly competitive college softball at a school that fits me. I am going to pursue a career in the medical field and as of now, have an extremely strong passion to become a surgeon. Academics are of the utmost importance to me. I have been playing softball since I was little and love the game and the team atmosphere. I started catching for my varsity team in 7th grade. I love to be in a position where I can have a major impact on the game with my physical and mental attributes. I am a leader on the field and off. I work my hardest to make myself and my team the best we can be. I lead by example on the field by never taking a drill or play off. I challenge myself and others to do the same. As I challenge myself on the softball field, I also challenge myself in the classroom. I have taken every advanced class available to me and have had a full schedule since the start of my high school career. Although I am very busy, I have never turned in an assignment late and enjoy every minute of it. I am fully prepared to be equally busy in college as well. I take pride in doing all the things that a coach asks of me. Nothing short of 110% effort is the only way I work and I will be a hard worker all of the time. I am involved in a lot of things inside and outside of school. I love it. I love to be busy. Softball is my #1 priority, after God, family, and academics. I am fully prepared to focus solely on one sport in college. Also, I believe that being involved in all these different activities and groups has made me a better athlete and a better person. These experiences have helped condition me to be very disciplined and manage my time wisely. Softball will be a big part in my college life. All of my free time will be spent doing the extra things to make my self a better player. I am very excited for this upcoming experience and for what the future holds.
