Since the first time I stepped onto the diamond during tee ball I had a great passion to
play softball. As part of my middle school career I realized that in order to be a leader you must
lead by example and not just verbally. Encouraging and telling a teammate how to do something
isn’t enough; by doing it myself it helps me and my teammates. This includes actions on the
field or in the classroom. I currently hold a 3.7 average and take several honor classes. .
Being apart of many teams has given me the opportunity to work with a lot of different
people with a lot of different talents at several different levels of competition. While winning
many championships along the way was rewarding, it wasn’t the best thing. Learning from my
teammates and coaches was the most gratifying. I was able to learn what it means to work
together, learn from each other's mistakes and achievements, and how to be a teammate. My
goal is to take what I have learned so far and use it to advance my development to the next
level as a player and teammate.
