My name is Elianna Cedeno. I am a varsity softball player at Garfield High School. I plan to major in Nursing and a minor in Pre-Med. I would love to continue my studies while playing softball at the next level. Every softball player has dreams to make it on the big screen playing with other Division I schools, however whether it’s Division I, II, or III i just want to be on a field with a team. I have always challenged myself balancing honors classes and advanced placement classes, while playing softball at the same time to get myself prepared for the college level. Playing softball brings out a better side of myself and I am very dedicated to this sport. I’ve never had half of the talent of most of the girls i’ve played with throughout the years, nor was I very tall either. I was always the shortest of every team, but I’ve always had the most heart walking onto that field. Knowing the disadvantages that came with my height, makes me want to work even harder because I know I can achieve my goals to play at a high competition level. Talent is nothing compared to hard work and determination. I like to stand out in the crowd as small but mighty. An athletic goal of mine is to make an impact on other people and especially younger players so they can see that anyone can make it as long as you put the work in.
