My name is Carly Quabeck, I am currently a senior at Hillsborough High School in New Jersey. I have been playing softball since I was five years old and have developed a passion for the game. Although I have participated in multiple other sports and activities for many years such as cheerleading, gymnastics, and basketball, softball has always been the sport that drives me to compete and challenge myself the most. I have played competitively for many years, most recently at the 16U and 18U national level for the Newtown Rock Softball Organization. I am a utility player and participate in every position within the infield, primarily playing middle infield. My softball background and training through the years have provided me with a unique skill set which I continually strive to develop.
I intend to study Elementary Education. Ideally, I would like to attend a school within the Northeast area which will not only provide me with an excellent education but will allow me an opportunity to continue participating in a sport that I am so passionate about and has provided me with so many opportunities. The size or type of school is not critical provided I can obtain an excellent education, continue to develop strong relationships, and have a chance to compete within the sport that has been so beneficial for me. I have always been driven to improve and my teammates have always complimented me for my effort and aggressiveness. I believe we all need to be challenged to excel but also feel that we need to be comfortable within our environment. For me, finding the school that provides me with both the promise of a good education and the ability to compete with others as a team would be an ideal experience.
Although school and softball are both challenging, finding a balance is very important to me. Having two very competitive brothers, I have always found myself not only to be a competitive person but also one who always enjoys a sense of teamwork. I have always pursued new opportunities that will challenge and develop me to become a better person and player. I look forward to all the opportunities ahead of me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
