Personal Statement

My main goal in college is to prepare myself for my life ahead.  I am looking to major in illustration as well as education.  I’m always learning little by little and want to help others do the same thing..  I have had to overcome 2 learning disabilities so I know what it’s like to struggle.  Thank goodness I have great teachers who work with me on the days that can be fought for me.

As far as being a good teammate or candidate goes, I love the game of softball .  I’m a pitcher and had to work for everything.  My parents and coaches tell me I haven’t even thrown my best stuff yet that I’m a work in progress.   I have all of the pitches, I just need some more speed on my 4 seam fastball. I love being with my teammates and just making them laugh.  I can be a little out there because while we play hard and to win, we need to have fun because it is a game.

Academically, my world is art.  I love art in all forms, music, theater, dance, all of it.  I play the violin, act on stage and had a voice coach for a long time..  Our family is very artistic in all of these areas as well.  My old performing arts schools just gave me an internship for the summer, learning how to run  theater productions and the school which I’m very excited about.  I also help out at my Dad’s real estate company where I work with the agents and help them with their paperwork and clients.

Coaches, I am what my Dad calls a "late bloomer".  I improve little by little and he says that I show "glimpses" of what I can do on the field. I'm just getting my motion where I want it and my fastball just keeps improving. My swing is coming together and I always work on my fielding.  I know in my heart that my best in this game is yet to come.  I truly love the sport and just love to play.   Most of all, please know that I will give my best, try to make you laugh., be a great teammate and play my heart out for you.  Thank you, Gabby Caparruva.

Training

  • Pitching
  • 6 years
  • Ground Ball/Flyball pitcher. Generally does not give up big hits. Warms up fast, used as a starter and reliever. Tough, quiet, doesn't get rattled. Can throw almost every pitch, best pitches are a cutter, two seam and drop. Needs more speed on 4 seam. Working on her motion discipline so front leg stays firm and doesnt lose her zone. Steady improvement every year.
  • Hitting
  • 3 years
  • Good eye at the plate and generally doesnt swing out of the zone. Excellent OBP if shes not trying to keep her team in the game with a hit. Tendency to cast, has gap power.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
