I have been involved in organized sports since I was in kindergarten playing t-ball - the only girl on the team. As soon as I was able, I switched to softball and have loved the game ever since. It allowed my dad, who was one of my early coaches, and I to have some serious bonding time while he was teaching me about the sport, hitting, and fielding - even sharing the nickname Griff. Now that I’m in high school, the sport has become even more important to me and I have been able to showcase my talents on the field as well as in the dugout. In our last season, our team went further than ever in school history, in part due to my game ending double that put us ahead in the bottom of the 8th inning in the semi-finals. Most of the team will be back this year and we’re all excited to play another successful season together.
My goal is to continue playing softball in college. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit athletically as well as academically to support my dream of becoming a dentist. I believe my talents on the field, my leadership quality in the dugout and my strong work-ethic and character will be a great addition to your program.
