Abby Liebowitz '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi coaches. My name is Abby Liebowitz and I am a junior at Tenafly High School in Tenafly, NJ. I am a right-handed pitcher and play second base as well.  For my high school team, during my sophomore season, I was the designated hitter for one of my teammates and contributed in all of our games. Currently, I am the starting first baseman and the #2 pitcher. I have consistently had a 4.0 GPA for freshman year and sophomore year.

Though I may be a bit shy at first, when I get comfortable I am super friendly, more talkative, and more confident overall. I am able to help my teammates when they are upset if they messed up a play, felt like they did not do their best, or are just struggling that day. I know how they feel, because I have been there, but I continue to work on a drill or skill until I got it.

I am not afraid of hard work, and am a very coachable player. I understand the game very well, and am able to pick up new skills pretty quickly. Outside of team practices, I work with my mom (pitched for Muhlenberg College; Hall of Fame) and private coaches on pitching, fielding and hitting. I have a great training set up at home, so I am constantly working on my game. I do not let the fact that I am on the smaller side deter me. I cannot control my height but I can control my skill. I am very passionate about softball, and look forward to playing in college. It's been a lifelong goal of mine and I feel I can make a contribution to your team.

I am looking for a smaller D3 school on the east coast and will be majoring in neuroscience.
