Ya’ah’teeh (Hello). My name is Gleenabah Tsosie and I am a freshman at Mississippi Valley State University in Itta Bena, Mississippi studying psychology. I have maintained a 3.8 GPA and know that being a student-athlete, education is important. I have four pitches: rise, drop, curve and change. I also play first, third, and outfield. This past season with MVSU, I appeared in 8 games with 7 starts and 39.2 innings pitched, as of the end of March. Season highlights were a complete game against St.Peter’s University with 5 strikeouts, allowed only 2 walks to Jackson State, and held Central Arkansas to only 2 hits. I am currently posting a 0-4 record, and hope to strive for a better performance and lower my ERA. I am coachable and accept constructive criticism. I do possess knowledge in calling my own games, if needed, and I do have a high softball I.Q. I consider myself a student of the game and wish to challenge myself to learn more with the right mentors.
Family background:
My mother graduated with a bachelors degree from Arizona State University and had a great four-year pitching career with the Sundevils. Also, my aunt pitched for two schools, Western New Mexico University (NAIA) and Eastern Arizona College (JC) before getting her degree at University of Arizona and her Master's at Grand Canyon University. Both my mom and aunt were coached by my grandfather George Harrison, Sr. He played college baseball in Oklahoma. His son (my uncle) also played baseball at Bacone College in Oklahoma. My grandfather was my pitching coach since I was 8 years old. Growing up with these influences, I would watched college softball games on ESPN. At times, when I did not feel like watching, my aunties would jokingly tell me to watch or they would strap me to a chair to watch...one day they did :).
During my extra time, I am an assistant coach to my younger brothers’ basketball and baseball teams. This past summer I umpired in Colorado and have learned many aspects of the game.
I want to thank you so much for taking the time to read my personal and my goals. Thanks again for your time.
